KULTURÁLIS ÖRÖKSÉGÜNK SZEREPE A 21. SZÁZADBAN
(A SZABADKAI DIGITÁLIS KÖNYVTÁR VÍZIÓJA)

A könyvtárak az emberiség történelmében mindig is meghatározó kulturális gócpontok, ugynevezett locus scientiae-k vagy locus doctrinae-k voltak. Ebből kifolyólag primáris küldetésük volt a kulturális örökség gyarapítása és átörökítése is. A város egyik legrégebbi kulturális helyszíneként ismert Szabadkai Városi Könyvtár működésében az örökség értéke már a kezdetektől kiemelt jelentőséggel bírt, így az iránta érzett felelősség, illetve kötelesség és kötődés a Könyvtár közzösségformáló erejét is meghatározta.
Jelen tanulmány a Szabadkai Városi Könyvtár Digitális Könyvtárának kiemelt jelentőségével foglalkozik, mely a Szabadka területén elő nemzetek közös szellemi értékét képviselve a 21. század igényeihez igazodva igyekszik lépést tartani és nyomatékosítani a jelenkor számára Szabadka gazdag helytörténeti kulturális örökségét. A Digitális Könyvtár állományának korszerűsítése és annak elekronikus módon történő tárolása elősegíti a Szabadkai Városi Könyvtár egyedi és primér helyismereti gyűjteményének megőrzését az utókor számára.
A Digitális Könyvtár helyzetének kutatása során a már összegzett értékek kerülnek bemutatásra, melyek kronológiailag ábrázolják a Digitális Könyvtár megalakulásának történetét, nehézségeit és előrelátható jövőképét, elméleti és primer segítségként felhasználva Peter Brophy: A 21. század könyvtára c. könyvét, amely a könyvtárakat ma fenyegető gyors változásokról számol be. A tanulmány induktív hipotézise a jelenleg is zajló digitalizálás folyamatából, annak eredményeiből ered. A megközelítés kvantitatív szemléletmódú. Hogyan lehet egy digitális könyvtárat “közelebb” hozni a társadalomhoz, valamint milyen eszközökkel lehet népszerűsíteni, illetve − a jelen esetben −, milyen tartalmakkal válhat a Szabadkai Digitális Könyvtár a térség fő információs központjává?
Az információs örökség digitalizálásával megnöveljük a lakosság tudományos jólétét. A könnyű elérhetőséggel növelhetjük a könyvtár iránti érdekődést A kimagaslóan gazdag örökség tudatosítása által egy öntudatosabb fiatal generáció kineveléséhez járulunk hozzá, amely erősíti a város multikulturális jellegét.

THE ROLE OF OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Libraries have always been defining cultural focal points in human history, so-called locus scientiae or locus doctrinae. As a result, the growth and transmission of cultural heritage was a defining and primary element. In the traditions of the Subotica City Library, which is known as one of the city’s oldest cultural sites, the value of heritage was of particular importance from the very beginning, so the responsibility, duty and attachment felt towards it was woven into the community-shaping the power of the Library.
The present study deals with the special importance of the Digital Library Subotica, which represents the common spiritual value of the indigenous peoples in the Subotica area and tries to adapt to the needs of the 21st century empathizing the rich, local and historical cultural heritage of Subotica. The modernization of the Digital Library’s holdings and its electronic preservation helps preserve the unique and primary local knowledge collection of the Subotica City Library for posterity.
When researching the situation of the Digital Library, we can establish that the already summarized values are presented in chronological order with the difficulties taken into consideration for the foreseeable future. As a theoretical and primary aid, we used a book called: “Peter Brophy: The library of the 21st century c.” which reports on the rapid changes threatening libraries today. The main research area of the study is the significance and future of the Digital Library, its vision in the 21st century, whose own inductive hypothesis originates from the ongoing digitization process and its results, with a quantitative approach. How can a digital library be brought „closer” to society, and with what tools can it be popularized, and in this case, with what content can the Digital Library Subotica become the main information center of the region?
The cultural heritage of the city of Subotica and its region is of indispensable importance. Preserving this key element is one of our Libraries goals. By digitizing the informational heritage, we increase the scientific well-being of the population and thereby directly contribute to its preservation and expansion. With easy accessibility, we can ensure an increase in the interest of our library, and we can significantly increase our effect on the younger generations, capturing their interest in the multitude of heritage and curiosities of the past. With the exceptionally rich heritage, we contribute to a generation with greater self-awareness, which strengthens the multicultural characteristics of our city.
